Transcription of Interview - A caribbean experience

I Got The Hookup is located at 5232 Park Heights Avenue in the Pimlico area.

Brian Lyncs, the stores owner and founder, opened I Got The Hookup in 1998 after moving from Jamaica, New York. To him, the store represents a dream come true as he always dreamed of owning his own record store, as he is a rapper and a musician himself.

The store specializes in Caribbean music, ranging from reggae to calypso. It also stocks a variety of hip-hop, jazz, gospel and R&B recordings.

In addition to the music, I Got The Hookup also sells all natural oils, soaps, vitamins and incense, all designed to give the customer a well rounded experience.

As Lyncs put it, other stores offer you music, but I Got The Hookup offers its customers an education in Caribbean culture.

I Got The Hookup is open Monday - Thursday from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m.
